Cody Peck was born in 1995. Born to Lisa and Steve Peck, Cody was a healthy growing young boy. It wasn’t until after his 16th birthday, that Cody had brain cancer. Medulloblastoma. Up until then Cody had been just like every other kid, healthy. He was a supporter of how the Red Sox support the Jimmy Fund and the Children’s hospital in Beantown. He also liked to tinker with things.
But in 2011 Cody was diagnosed with Medulloblastoma. From there it was in and out of hospitals and treatment facilities. Surgeries, radiation, and chemo took its toll on Cody and the family as well. Strapped with insurmountable medical bills, Cody felt it was his duty to help the family. So he took his social security benefits payment and built things. Remember the tinker part? Tinker is an understatement. Cody had an uncanny knack of taking others people garbage and turning it into something of value. He would go to the junk yard and buy scraps and would build tear drop trailers. If you haven’t ever seen one of these, it is a small 2 person, at best, sleeper that you pull behind your vehicle.
Not only was he a tinkerer, but a straight A student as well. While going through all that he went through, Cody graduated high school in May 2014 with a 3.9 GPA. Sadly to say in September last year, Cody left this life to go meet his creator. Although Cody passed away the memories created will never be forgotten of this angel. He was a hero who turned angel and today I will ride in memory of Cody. A angel that will never be forgotten.
